The fifth Rainbow Honey order.

My 5th order was in March and that was the month that I skipped the subscription. So I included the March mystery bag in my order.

The first group is the large mystery bag, the second group was my other part of what I ordered, the third group are the free items that come with every large order and the fourth group were my freebies just for ordering.

Here's a comparison photo of the March mystery bags. The nail polish colors were Kozmic Blue, Lemon Honey, Crystal Sword and the nail care/body care products were Tea Biscuit scented top coat, Rose Macaron solid perfume and Petit Four perfume oil. The 3 scented items were sneak peeks at the scents for the La Patissiere collection that was released on April 18th. Part of what I ordered in April included nail polishes from this collection but I wasn't a fan of the scents so I didn't order any of those. I sort of like Rose Macaron but I only opened the mini one and probably won't open the large.

Konpeito! $10 value (but was the March LE color so it was free with my order. March is their birthday month and 2015 was their third birthday and every year they release a nail polish color for this and this was the color for 2015)
Kitsune $7 (part of the original The Yokai collection from 2012)
Bakeneko $7 (part of The Yokai collection but this was new to 2014, there were 3 new colors added to this collection in 2014)
Deep Heart Sea $10 (this was originally in a mystery bag from July 2014 and was released as part of the Hearts collection from February 2015)
Cutie Pie mini $5 (part of the Sweet Talk collection)
Lovebug mini $5 (part of the Sweet Talk collection)
Be Mine mini $5 (part of the Sweet Talk collection and I now have all 6!)

Keep Believing cuticle oil $8 or $12 value (this was free with my order and this scent is on sale for $8 but cuticle oils are generally $12)
Lemon Sorbet scented top coat $6 (this was released in a bliss set and I liked the scent in January so I ordered the top coat, I already have the lip balm, lip scrub, soap and the scented nail polish)

Here is a swatch of Konpeito! over Zoya... I can't remember the name of this black creme. But I love love LOVE Konpeito! It's similar to the polish they released March 2014 but I think this one is a thousand times better. It has mini baby stars versus bigger stars in 2014's All My Stars and it had a mix of bright and pastel stars and larger circles and squares whereas Konpeito! has all pastel stars, smaller squares and smaller hexes. I love it. I ordered a backup in my April order.
I have a Wet N Wild star polish that has the bigger star polish and is silver and it was a huge pain in the butt getting those stars on. I had to dab them all on there whereas with Konpeito! I always had stars on my brush. My first swipe had just one star but after that it was multiple stars.

This is the Sweet Talk entire nail polish collection.

Lovebug, XOXO, Cutie Pie, Be Mine, My Girl and Sweet Talk.

My 4th Rainbow Honey order.

This order was placed in Feburary. I still have March and April before I'm caught up. And I haven't received my April order yet, it was just shipped Saturday.

I can't find my order slip from this month so I'm going to look on the RH website. I ordered:

Summer Juice cuticle balm $4 (but then I found out that Pomme Rouge [my favorite scent] cuticle balms were still being sold and also for $4 so I emailed to switch it out)
Sweet Talk cuticle balm $5 (this was part of the Sweet Talk collection that was released in February)
Two Pomme Rouge cuticle balms $4 value (I had asked to just switch it but Carolyn sent me two of them as part of my gift with this order)
Tiny Ruby mini $5 (this was part of the Summer of 199x collection)
Sweet Talk mini $5 (Part of the Sweet Talk collection and the polishes were all rereleased whereas the body care products were new this year, this collection has 6 polishes)
XOXO mini $5 (Sweet Talk collection)
My Girl mini $5 (Sweet Talk collection)
Tessellate $7 (this was in the Last Call section but I don't remember what collection it was from)
My Love $10 (this was a LE from 2014? And was rereleased in a Hearts collection which consisted of 5 polishes, 2 rereleases, 2 from previous mystery bags and 1 new one)
Heartless $10 value (this is the new one for the Hearts collection and was the February LE one that was free with orders $50 or more)
Tessie $5 but this bottle is $10 value (this is also from The Summer of 199x collection and I already have a full size bottle but I love this color so I wanted a backup and ordered a mini but was gifted a FS)
Kawako $7 (this was from a collection called The Yokai and was part of the original 3 colors from 2012)
Fire spring $7 (part of The Summer of 199x collection I now have 7 of this collection and the 3 missing are Lanterns, Lumine Hall and Pink Cloud)

My order total was $65 so I also got the February mini mystery bag as a gift which is a $10 value. So with my $65 order I received $32 worth of free product, I'm counting the upgrade on Tessie. The mini bag value was $15 for polishes and $15 for the body care products I think. I'm including a picture of the FULL SIZE mystery bag because I don't have a picture of the mini. I just wanted to remind people which bag it was.

Porch.

Here's some pictures of our porch. First I'll show ones I took last year, then I'll show what it looked like today before and then I'll show my progress picture. I won't call it an after yet because there are still boxes I want to get rid of. And I want to sweep.

June 2014:

April 25th 2015 before:

Then here is how the porch looks currently.
April 25th 2015:

That stack of four boxes... Will be gone next weekend. Maybe I'll even deal with the big box by the sliding glass door.

Things I want to do still?

-Sweep/vacuum.

-Get rid of the five boxes. 3 can go in the recycling bin next weekend. Then there are 2 that have stuff in them. I could probably put the smaller boxes content into the big one.

-Put my computer chair out there and a table possibly. I want to be able to sit out there and read a book or paint my nails. I know my computer chair is easy to get to but I don't know if my old desk is easy to get to. The computer chair was a gift from my dad in 2001 and now it's dirty but I'm thinking I can get it clean enough to sit on. I probably won't bring it to our future new place (whenever that is).

-Wash the blankets and put them in the closet and in the barn. There's 2 out there and I want the thinner one in the closet and the quilt in the barn.

-Try to get rid of the duffel bag and yugioh cards. That's J's job though.

-And finally I want to clean the plant table and the surrounding area. I want to get new soil and give my plants some fresh soil and some fertilizer. And maybe buy one or two more plants. I have that big purple planter available (the plant is just sitting in there in its own planter) and then I have 2 pink planters in the barn. I might put the palm tree into the bigger purple planter to see if it grows bigger.

So those are my plans for the porch this spring!

A quick before and after!

I was attempting to clean our porch up. I really want to make it useable and to enjoy it out there. I want to put a table and chair out there to watch the sunset, read and do my nails out there. But while I was doing that I found a basket in a box. I used to have this basket in our pantry at our old house. And it's just been sitting in a box for over a year going unused. It's a nice basket! So I brought inside to use on top of our mini fridge.

Before:
There's the basket and the area I wanted to clean up, here's a closer picture of the mess on top of the mini fridge.

Some of that is garbage (plastic bottles and the receipt) and then the rest is food and food related items.

Here's the after:

I still want to put a shelf above that area and also hang a paper towel holder up on the wall. The paper towels just keep getting moved around and sitting on valuable real estate.

Check out my other post about the porch!

Rainbow Honey Wednesday Manicure!

So Monday night I was painting my nails. There were so many stupid problems. I paint on a little TV table and I sit under the AC vent. Lately, the AC is almost always on. So the entire time I was painting my nails with Rainbow Honey's Delphine, I was messing up. It was getting stringy and it was clumpy. I finished the first coat. Got to the second and there were dog hairs in the first coat. Then there was marks, dips, nicks, dents, what have you, it happened. There were bugs flying everywhere, including into my face a few times. The table wasn't steady. I guess the legs were stuck in the grout line of the tile and so the table was wobbly when I did not need it to be. I flooded my cuticles a few times because of that. I finished the second coat, put top coat on and called it a day.

Oh!! I also stuck my hand into the brush handle, where it's covered in paint. Got it all over my finger. There's still a dog hair somewhere on a nail.

The next day I painted thistle tresses on it. I loooooove this look.

Both of these nail polishes were in the April mystery bag.

3rd Rainbow Honey order.

I think I have seriously only bought 3 brands of nail polish since September. I have bought a TOOOOOOON of RH, some bottles of Loreal's Masked and then 3 bottles of Sinful. It's crazy.

Oh I bought Zoya in November and January? So 4 brands.

There's my January order. At the bottom is the Fallen Snow set. It had two polishes (full size), the light blue is Fallen Snow and the glitter is called Icelandia. It has a Fallen Snow perfume oil and Fallen Snow scented top coat (mini). The set also had a mini All Your Base base coat too but it was sent separately. This was $25.

The 5 full size polishes at the top are:

-Heisenberg (new feature called the vault where fans submit retired polishes to be brought back and fans chose Heisenberg) $10
-Snow and Lights (same thing as Heisenberg but this was a part of a set of 3 that were LE's from January 2014 originally) $10
-Your Hand in Mine (same as the first 2 I mentioned and was part of the January 2014 trio) $10
-Icelandia (every order of $50 has a free limited edition polish, Fallen Snow was the automatic LE but you could switch it for Icelandia if you wanted and I choose it) $10 value but I got it free.
-Behemoth (this was the third in the Russian Literature theme and the other 2 were the polishes from the December mystery bag) $10

The 2 minis are:

-Diamond Dust $5
-Emerald Weapon $5 value but in January they had a promotion where you could get a free mini using a code

The two items with the heart stickers were gifts with my order. It's a full size Midori cooling gel and a mini Pomme rouge hand soap. Both were items from previous mystery bags.

And then finally a mini mystery bag from January. $10 value but is free with orders over $65.

My order was $70 I think and then I got over $25 worth of free items plus the Fallen Snow set was $25 but was worth over $30. It's stuff like that, that keep me going back over and over to Rainbow Honey.

I haven't taken any pictures of the new colors on my nails yet. I just have pictures of Diamind Dust and the January mystery bag colors which are previous posts. Here's a close up I took of the 6 full size colors I bought. Heisenberg, Fallen Snow, Your Hand in Mine, Icelandia, Snow and Lights and Behemoth. Apparently I like blue nail polishes. Okay who am I kidding, I LOVE blue nail polishes and when J proposed with a ring that had sapphires in it, I started having to buy all the blue polishes in the world.

Rambling.

My teeth hurt. I need some mouth wash. And I don't know where my little bottle is. Payday is Thursday. I'll be buying a bigger bottle then.
I might need to schedule a visit to my dentist before my 6 month checkup and cleaning. Sigh. That'll cost me for that visit.

I just finished reading Sandra Brown's Mean Streak. It's really good, just like the other two books I've read by her. (Kreasy is making cute sounds in his sleep right now!) But it's kind of annoying how the women are falling over themselves into bed with men who they don't know and that seem like they're bad guys in the beginning of the book. All 3 books have had that some loose story line. By the end of the book the men aren't actually bad guys but the women don't know the entire story when they sleep with them. According to J's mom her books are popular at the high school. I'm not sure if the books are popular in the library (she works at the school library) or if the students have just mentioned they like her books. I read stuff like this in high school, stuff even worse but it's still unnerving that high school girls are reading this. I just hope they realize that if they wake up in a strange man's cabin with a concussion and have no memory of how the concussion happened, then they shouldn't end up sleeping with that strange man two days later. Especially if after that two day period, they don't know the guy's name and don't know exactly how they ended up with the concussion and at his cabin. But it was still a good book.

I have to work tomorrow at 2 pm so I should probably go to sleep at some point.

I don't know what book I want to read next. I still have 4 unread books in here. Along with 5 books I've read that I brought into the bedroom from the barn with the intention of rereading. I have a pile of I read books somewhere, I just don't know where. It's really annoying.

I put glitter on my nails! I am really loving April's mystery bag. Swoon!

I need to do another coat of glitter then top coat then I need to sleep.

Second Rainbow Honey order.

In December, J bought me some Rainbow Honey polishes and a scented top coat for a late Christmas present.

Here is what he bought me:

Pomme Rouge scented top coat, Solider from the Final Battle line and from the Summer of 199x line he bought me Magic Cake, The Kraken and Tessie. I don't have any pictures of Solider but here's some of the other three.

Magic Cake.

The Kraken and Tessie. I've used Tessie quite a few times already and actually bought a back up bottle in February. I bought a mini but they upgraded me to a full size!

April's Mystery Bag from Rainbow Honey.

I just got my April mystery bag and I am so excited for it that I am already posting reveal pictures. I think Rainbow Honey knocked it out of the park this month. At least in my opinion since I actually love everything.

Even the paper and sticker designs are super cute.

And it's the same design that is on the packaging for the lip scrub and lip balm.

Blue color is called Delphine, purple is eidolon and the glitter is thistle tresses. The cuticle oil is called pomelo and it's citrus scented. It reminds me of grapefruit.

I love the colors, I love the scent of the cuticle oil and I love the scent of the lip balm and lip scrub. I will definitely wear the blue and the glitter polish way more than once and might even wear the purple polish one or two times. I also think the glitter polish will go great over both colors.

I really need to get batteries for the camera.

The colors and the cuticle oil descriptions don't say anything about when/if they'll be released in the future. But the melon fizz ones do. They say that it's a fruity taste of a new line, inspired by summer drinks coming soon. I think that January's Dirty Mintini will also be a part of this summer drinks line. I guess we'll see.

The mystery bag featured in this post was their full size bag and it's $25 a month, including the shipping. There is also a mini size bag that is $10 a month plus $3 for shipping. Or the mini bag can be free with purchases of $65.

And now?? I have to go and remove my rainbow manicure to try out April's polishes.

4.11.2015

Rainbow Manicure using almost all Rainbow Honey polishes and one SinfulColors polish.

I couldn't decide on what color I wanted to paint my nails so I came up with the idea of a rainbow. I started picking colors out of my stash and I know there's 7 colors in the true rainbow but I have 10 nails so some colors had to be duplicated. I painted them quickly and only used one coat of base coat and one coat of top coat. I normally do two of base and two or three of top. I think this was a huge mistake on my part. Details later on.

Here's my right hand. Pinky is RH Crimson nebula (Feburary). Ring is RH Fire spring. Middle is RH Lemon Honey (March bag!!!). Index is RH Tayabak. Thumb is RH mint flavor.

Left hand. Thumb is Sinful Colors savage. Index is RH Kozmic Blues (March bag!!!). Middle is RH zi (October bag). Ring is RH Tsukimi (February bag). Pinky is RH Apple kid.

My thoughts? I love how this looks. But having one coat caused some chipping so my plan was to redo them when I got home. BUT THEN THIS HAPPENED.

I was freaking out because I thought for sure there was going to be blood like there was in October and I think in December. I thought the biotin was helping. And I've been using multiples coats of base and top but I was hurrying to go to bed that night. I didn't do that this time so I'm blaming it on that, lol. I thought about trying to save it but it was broke so far back I decided it would be safer to just cut it short. That way the rest of it couldn't have a chance to also break and possibly break the skin. It's going to grow back at different lengths but as soon as I can cut it to one length, I will.

Surprise favorites for me are Tayabak and Zi. When I got Zi I loved the color in the bottle and I still do. I just never have liked purple polishes on me. I wore this color last year and didn't love it. But I love it right now in the rainbow nails. I think it works great as a violet shade. Tayabak. I bought this because I thought it was going to be more neon green and J loves neon green. I buy green polishes for him but then never wear them, I've never liked how they look on me. I love blues and pinks on me. So when I got the bottle, it wasn't what I expected. I was disappointed and never even tried it on the nail. I tried it out and love how it looks on me. I'll definitely try it out in future manicures. Still not sure about Zi though, lol. I might just save it for when I do rainbow nails again.

March's Mystery Bag from Rainbow Honey.

April's mystery bag is almost here. Well it hasn't shipped yet but there's a shipping label created so now I can track it whenever it starts going places.

I got the March bag late because I canceled it because I didn't think I'd get my money in the bank on time. So when the store reopened in March they were having a birthday celebration for their third birthday. There was a 25% off with a code so I bought a lot of stuff of course. I'll post those full details another time. But the mystery bag was part of my order so the $25 went towards my goal of getting to $65 so I could get free shipping, free limited edition (which is gorgeous) and a free mini mystery bag from the current month (March...). So that made it easier to get to $65.

Onto the pictures!

Here's a picture of both of the mini bags. Large is on the left (left looking at the picture) and the mini is on the right. Everything in this bag has different sizes for both bags this month. In the past the mini bag has received full size base coat and full size cuticle oil. The cuticle and lip balms are always the same size so that's a nice thing too about the mini bags.

The colors are Kozmic Blues, Lemon Honey and Crystal Sword.
There's a scented top coat in Tea Biscuit scent. The rollerball perfum is Petit Four. The solid perfume is Rose Macaron.

There's the letter that explains everything.

I don't think I like the Petit Four scent but I haven't opened it yet and applied it. My small one leaked a little bit so I just smelled it that way. I cleaned everything up and it doesn't seem to leak now so maybe it was from the lab, like if another was leaking.

I think I could like the Rose Macaron scent and I looooove the idea of solid perfumes in balm form. I used to have a perfume balm when I was like 11 years old and I loved that thing. I carried it around with me for years. I probably still have it to this day (20 years later, give or take a few). It was some teeny bopper type scent. Lol. I've always wanted more solid perfumes. Spray perfumes seem to bother me so much but the roller balls and solids don't seem to have that effect on my allergies. I opened the small one and kept the large one sealed. Maybe one day I'll put my extras on eBay.

Tea Biscuit. Eh. This is very bland to me. I barely can smell anything with it. Both the top coat and the cuticle balm I have in that scent. I like Petit Four better than this.

As for the colors? I think I'm going to love them. I'm using two of them in my manicure right now actually! Here's some random swatches I did.

Kozmic Blues

Lemon Honey

Crystal Sword.

Here's a link of a blog post where I showed my pictures of my nails from the day I tried them with an explanation of the base coats I used with Crystal Sword and how many coats I did.

This bag was the large and mini. The large is $25 including shipping. The mini is $10 and shipping is $3. I normally have a subscription to the large but I ordered them both at the same time. Well I ordered the large and the mini was gift with purchase.

Do you subscribe? What do you think of the March mystery bag? How do you like the perfume balm vs the solid perfume in a tin? I definitely think the balm is better!
